Folks, in this episode Sarbjeet and I took a very deep dive into the history, the current state and the future of the Artificial Intelligence market. We focused on the company called C3.AI ($AI) that has been picking up steam for the last few years. They were founded in 2009 and they IPO’d earlier this December. Their current CEO is Tom Siebel, who sold his Siebel Systems company to Oracle back in 2005.

This company is very interesting. They seem to be doing a lot of things right. They have an app development platform that many large clients already use (i.e. Shell has ~200 projects built on top of, according to Tom Siebel). …

I’m Vitalik Demin. I’m a Product Manager. I help companies build elegant, cost effective and easy to use software products while maximizing their business value.

I’m currently the product guy at I’m incredibly grateful to be a part of this journey!

I am originally from Siberia, Russia where at one point I was making $100–150 a month.

I currently live in Minneapolis MN. That money from Siberia surely helped with the plane ticket.

I have two master’s degrees (MA Linguistics and MBA) but I don’t feel that masterful just yet.

I wrote a few ebooks that you can find here. Felt really great to have one of them featured by Apple iBooks as a book of the day (that was a long time ago though). …

Today Sarbjeet Johal and I went deep into Appian ($APPN) — a low code automation platform that is becoming more popular by the day. We discussed the history of the process automation industry, its current state and how Appian is different from the companies that have been trying to own this space for a very long time. We also talked about whether Appian might be a good investment opportunity at this time (this is not financial advice).

Listen to our conversation and do any additional research of your own before deciding to invest.

Thank you so much for tuning it! 🙏

Folks, I’m super excited to finally drop this post! Sarbjeet Johal and I finally recorded the pilot episode of our new Fat Protocols podcast!

In this podcast we will be covering various platforms that have already become protocols and those that may get there in the future. We hope that our talks will be interesting to you and that they will also potentially help you capture early investment opportunities because protocols become very valuable and generate a lot of money for a very long time.

In this pilot conversation we laid out our vision for the podcast, discussed what protocols are (and what they are not), how these protocols capture value, which companies currently command major protocol technologies and we also talked about whether the most popular video conferencing platform Zoom is a protocol or an app. …

Thank you for taking the time to read these lines. Since this ebook is very short and succinct, I’ll get straight to the point. Interpersonal communication is at the core of everything we do. The way we communicate impacts our reputation, our career prospects, our personal relationships and basically everything else that we are trying to accomplish in this life. We live in a world where, unfortunately, there are many people who can push our buttons, are unprofessional and often straight up rude. The way we humans are designed is not the most optimal for handling such situations. In almost 100% of all cases we take everything personally, even when it’s not. The reality is that our brain is not programmed to analyze such situations real time to determine whether it’s us or the other person. Well, here’s a little secret — when somebody is being rude to you, it’s NEVER you. It’s ALWAYS the other person (unless, of course, you did something really unethical).

I wrote this ebook because I used to have that same issue. I took most of these things personally, even when they weren’t. It caused me quite a few problems during that time and I do wish I behaved differently back then. …

Folks, I am super pumped to bring to you our conversation with Jeffrey Boadi, one of the coolest people in the plant based world. Jeffrey and I decided to hop on a video call to get to know each other, exchange some plant based knowledge and talk about healthy diet and lifestyle in general.

Jeffrey has built a good followership on Twitter at @JeffreyBoadi_ and he’s getting more popular by the day, which is great! He also has a website blog at where I read a few interesting articles.

Without further ado, please tune in and I hope you enjoy our plant based talk!

Sarbjeet has worked for companies like Visa, VMWare, PeopleSoft, Rackspace, Oracle and others and he accumulated an enormous amount of first hand experience and knowledge about the cloud industry.

  • Future of software technology

Hi. My name is Vitalik Demin. I live in Minneapolis Minnesota and I am in software development. I also have a good amount of entrepreneurial experience.

I have a 4 year old boy and I am working very hard to make sure he grows up with the right mindset. I want him to have a solid mental foundation to be creative, to become resilient to the negatives of this world and also build a successful career of his choice.

I came up with the Tinken character (from “tinker”) and wrote these short stories (hopefully more to come) because I’m trying to accomplish the following for my…

What a blast it was to record this episode with Alisa! I hope you guys absolutely love it!

Alisa has an undergraduate degree in math and philosophy and a master’s degree in teaching. Last year Alisa transitioned from teaching to UX design and she’s currently with Microsoft EDU in Seattle working on a really cool OneNote Education product for teachers and students.

We talked about her journey and what she learned along the way. We also discussed why exactly having a mentor (or mentors) from your industry is very important to success.

Alisa also recommended a few resources and books that helped her get started and move forward. The links to all of them are in the episode notes below. …
